Review:

Dragon Age Inquisition is a 2014 game and is a sequel to 2011's Dragon Age II. It is a very comprehensive Role Playing Game where a lot of attention has been paid to the different characters. In the game, you take on the role of the Inquisitor, a character with a special ability to close "rifts". Rifts are portals through which demons and other monsters have a passage to the world. It is up to the inquisitor to close these rifts and save the world. A catastrophic event causes chaos in Thedas. Dragons darken the sky and cast a shadow of decay over the once peaceful kingdom. Mages wage a fierce battle against the tyrannical Templars. Nations come face to face. It is up to you and your company of legendary heroes to restore order. You lead the Inquisition hunting down the instigators of chaos. Covenants will be made and broken; the search for truth takes its toll.

In this, you have the choice of choosing a certain type of character. Will you be a warrior with strong physical attributes? Or a mage who can be of value with magic spells? Or rather a rogue who specialises in sneaking and opening doors and locks. The choice is yours!

Saving the world is not something you do alone. Gradually, you get to know all kinds of, playable, characters who will assist you in this battle. It is a single player game that is good for many hours of gameplay. There is so much to do. Besides the main storyline, there are plenty of side quests to undertake. The combat system feels organic and plays nicely. The ability to pause the action during battles to make strategic choices is a handy addition, especially on the higher difficulty levels. The game looks beautiful, has a fine soundtrack and plenty of positives. However, it mostly excels in its excellent characters and dialogues.

There is also plenty of extra content to be found in the form of DLCs. The downloadable additions The Descent, Jaws of Hakkon and Trespasser provide additional missions and are included in the Game Of The Year Edition.

However, as far as I am concerned, it does not reach the level of RPGs like The Witcher III: Wild Hunt or The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, for that, it still lacks some depth. But Dragon Age Inquisition will entertain you for many hours anyway. With a rating of 8.2 / 10 I can therefore recommend everyone to pick up this game for a soft price. Ideal for the cold winter days!
